I'm quite glad this book is finally finished. I had an incredibly hard time with it, I'm not one who really enjoys reading long-winded stories that go nowhere. I expected so much more out of this book...why not? It's about a grown daughter who finds out that her mother was a SPY during WWII. That should be EXCITING! Instead, the daughter takes it all in stride, continuing on with her life, not doubting her mother's story, or not really reacting at all, to be honest. The sub-plots about Ruth's life were a waste of time, they didn't add anything to the story at all.
The parts about Eva were a little more interesting, but still told blandly...there wasn't any excitement or adventure like I'd hoped there would be.
Pretty disappointing, for me.
