This one was quite a bit sexier and explicit than the first book in the series (although this book was written first), but it was still REALLY good. I found myself caring for Mary and being SO irritated by how she was treated and how her family acted. And then Anne...dear Anne...I wanted to slap that girl so hard!
It was slow going through the book, because there is so much detail about life in the court and trying to keep people straight. But, the last 50 pages or so, when it all comes to a head, I could NOT put the book down.
I wasn't really familiar with the details of Anne Boleyn's death...obviously I knew the basics, but didn't realize the scope of what King Henry did.
A really excellent book, and now I'm off to find the next book of the series...The Boleyn Inheritance.
