The book wasn't incredibly well written, but I gave it 4 stars because it kept me reading. Like a trainwreck...I couldn't believe the things the mother did to him, and found myself outraged at the way the father acted!
The book was shorter than I thought it would be - I was expecting it to be more of a story than just telling the facts. But, if your stomach can handle the torture this boy endured, it was a captivating read, at the very least.
